  About IAE

Established in 1994, the Indian Academy of Echocardiography (IAE) is the largest cardiac imaging society in India. It is committed to excellence in the field of cardiovascular ultrasound through training, education, research, innovation, advocacy and standardization. IAE currently has 12 regional chapters and over 2500 members.

Advancing echocardiography education in India and neighbouring region is the primary objective of IAE. One of the most important educational activities undertaken by IAE is Echo India- the annual conference of IAE. Organized every year during the month of Oct-Nov, it is the largest cardiac imaging meeting in India. Nearly 100 leading national and international faculty and almost 2000 delegates participate in the meeting. IAE also conducts regular webinars on various aspects of echocardiography. The Journal of The Indian Academy of Echocardiography & Cardiovascular Imaging (JIAE & CVI) is the flagship publication of IAE and recently, the Academy also published a textbook of echocardiography.

IAE also strives to ensure standardization of echocardiography practice in India. As part of this, it conducts accreditation test for echocardiographers and sonographers. The Academy also regularly brings out practice guidelines which are published in JIAE & CVI. Apart from these academic activities, IAE is also engaged in international liaising, social service, and advocacy.

The manuscripts involving invasive imaging which also have echocardiography or other forms of non-invasive cardiac imaging as an integral part are also invited. However, those manuscripts which are based solely on invasive coronary imaging are outside the scope of the journal.

Following categories of articles are invited- original research articles, systematic as well as narrative reviews, contemporary reviews, reviews on fundamentals of echocardiography, case reports, interesting images, CMEs, quizzes and letters to editor. Suitable articles on both clinical and non-clinical original research primarily in the field of echocardiography and other modalities of cardiac imaging are welcome.
